How to Register Online

Registering online is quick, efficient, and reduces the amount of paper and labor required here on campus. Here’s what you need to do:

 1. SELECT THE COURSE(S) YOU’D LIKE TO TAKE, using the online schedule of classes and/or advice from your advisor.

  1. If you are looking for a specific course, type in the course number and all available sections will appear.
  2. If you just want to browse, scroll down to "Customized Search." Under Departments/Discipline, choose Education. All the courses offered that semester in the College of Education will appear.
  3. Once you've made your choice(s), not both the course number (e.g. EAD 616) and the CRN (course registration number- e.g. 65210) for each course you plan to take.
2. REGISTER by going to the University of Maine website (www.umaine.edu).
  1. Click on “Web DSIS,” and the log-in screen will come up. Click on “student,” and on “UM.” Type your social security number in the box that calls for your ID. Type your birthday (mmddyy) in the box that calls for your PIN.  Include leading zeros (e.g. 090282) and no punctuation. If that pin does not work, you have probably changed your pin at some point. You can have it reset by email at umrecord@maine.edu or by phone at 581-1290.
  2. Once you are logged in, choose “Registration” from the list of available functions.
  3. Where are RAN number is requested, enter "99999."
  4. Follow the steps to register!
